ARKADELPHIA – It's one last ride for Ouachita men's tennis coach Craig Ward.
Monday night, the NCAA revealed its list of 48 teams selected for regional tournament competition with Ouachita coming in as the No. 2 seed in the central region with a home match against No. 3 seed Southern Arkansas coming up Monday, May 13 at 2 p.m.
The Tigers are 13-7 this season, currently ranked No. 29 in the latest ITA national poll. SAU is also 13-7 overall and ranked No. 33. Ouachita beat SAU during the regular season at home by a final score of 4-3.
The winner of next Monday's match between the Tigers and Muleriders advances to the NCAA Division II National Championships May 21-25 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tigers are in the NCAA tournament for the 20th time in program history, and are seeking the program's 13th trip to the round of 16.
Ouachita head coach Craig Ward recently announced his retirement to take effect at the end of the 2024 season. Ward has led the Tigers to 473 wins, 11 conference championships, and 20 NCAA tournaments in his 34 years at the helm. Read more about his career here:
