AUSTIN, Texas – Ouachita's Alex Blanchar has been selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Men's Tennis Academic All-America First Team.

This year's honor marks Blanchar's second straight season to earn CSC Academic All-America honors. He earned a spot on the second team last year, but was elevated to first team this year following his final collegiate season.

The Sant Andreu de Llaveneres, Spain native graduated from Ouachita last month with a bachelor's degree in business administration with emphases in sport management and marketing. He finished his career with a 3.92 cumulative grade point average. He is a five-time member of the Ouachita President's List and a two-time selection to the Ouachita Dean's List.

On the court, Blanchar has been equally impressive. This past season, he was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association/Great American Conference Player of the Year as well as earning All-MIAA/GAC First Team honors. He finished the season ranked No. 19 nationally in singles with a final record of 21-7. In doubles, he and teammate Phil Exner finished the year at No. 4 nationally with a record of 25-8.
