NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – The Ouachita men's and women's track & field teams have both been honored as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, while seven Tiger student-athletes have earned individual all-academic honors.
Highlighting the selections is the Ouachita women's team, which finished the year ranked second at the NCAA Division II level with a 3.76 team GPA, trailing only the University of Mary at 3.83.
The Ouachita men's track & field team came in 17th nationally with a 3.41 team GPA. Both the men's and women's teams are the highest-ranked representatives from the Great American Conference.
Individual honors for the Tigers included
Dylan Dew on the men's side and six from the women's side, including
Izzi Breaux,
Macie Cash,
Belle Lindsey,
Jaci McGregor,
Katelynn Nachtigal, and
Anna Woolsey. These student-athletes were selected based on the requirements of having at least a 3.25 GPA, a minimum of 24 completed hours, and a NCAA provisional mark posted this past season.
