EMPORIA, Kansas – Ouachita's Katelynn Nachtigal will compete for a national championship on Friday.
The recent graduate from Rogers, Arkansas qualified for the finals race in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a fourth-place finish in her heat and a 13th-place finish overall in Thursday's preliminaries at the NCAA Division II Track & Field championships with a time of 10:40.20.
The championship run will be held on Friday at approximately 7:30 p.m. Regardless of Friday's finish, Nachtigal has improved her nationals placement from last season after coming in 22nd in Colorado as Ouachita's first-ever NCAA-era nationals qualifier.

Aden Hecht came up just shy of qualifying for nationals with a 10th-place overall finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.06, which was his second-fastest performance in the event.

Joey Babel came in 22nd in the 400-meter race with a time of 55.88.

Elise Knight finished 22nd in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:20.00.
