PENSACOLA, Florida – The Ouachita women's swimming and diving team fell to No. 8 West Florida on Saturday in the first meet of 2025.
The final score against the Argonauts was 192-92. Ouachita also competed against William Carey University and East Central Community College in a quad-dual meet in Florida. The Tigersharks posted wins over WCU and ECCC.
The Tigersharks tallied 14 top three finishes on Saturday.
Sophie Derby took second in the 50 Backstroke with a time of 28.62, less than a second out of first place.
Keilee Holcomb placed second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 54.00, less than two seconds away from first. Holcomb also took second in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 27.10.
Anna Phelps took second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.85. Phelps also finished third in the 200 Free with a time of 1:58.73 and the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.39.
Linzay Taylor finished second in the 500 Free with a time of 5:41.43.
Britta Andruss finished third in the 100 Back with a time of 1:03.37.
Didi Christenson took third in the 100 Free with a time of 56.51. Christenson also placed third in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 27.72.
Kasie Lopez finished third in the 500 Free with a time of 5:43.12.
Kate McCown placed third in the 1000 Free with a time of 11:07.71.
The 200 Free Relay squad of Andruss, Holcomb, Derby, and
Jameson Tankersley took second with a time of 1:41.93.

Monica McMahon placed third with a time of 1:47.47.
In total, Ouachita recorded 27 top five finishes in the Florida meet.
The Tigersharks will be back in action next week when they host the Falcons of Montevallo University on Saturday, January 11 at Waggoner Pool in Arkadelphia.
