BASEBALL SWEEPS MONDAY DH FOR SERIES WIN

HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas – The Ouachita baseball team won both ends of a double header on Monday over Southeastern Oklahoma State by scores of 1-0 and 9-2 to earn the Great American Conference series victory over the Savage Storm two games to one.

In a pitcher's dual in the first game on Monday, Ouachita's winning run came across when Aidan LeMasters stole home in the bottom of the eighth inning. LeMasters started the inning with a walk, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, and then stole third base to set up what ended up being the game-defining play, which was LeMasters dodging the Southeastern catcher on a failed squeeze play.

Kyzer Smith and Tag Pacot combined for the shutout. Smith allowed only three hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in the first six innings. Pacot earned the win (3-1) in relief, allowing no runs or hits with four strikeouts and two walks in the final three innings.

Offensively, the Tigers were limited to two hits in Monday's first game, both coming from Isaac Nowell.

Nowell kept pace in the series finale with a 3-for-4 performance with three runs scored to notch a five-hit day.

The Tigers gave starting pitcher Luke House six runs of support in the first three innings. In the first, Ouachita pushed three across on a bases-loaded walk, a balk, and a Savage Storm error. Wesley Scott added a two-run double in the second. Andrew Cox scored on a wild pitch in the third.

Ouachita took advantage of four walks in the sixth inning to push three runs across to finalize the scoring at 9-2 in the seven-inning affair. Joseph Bolin drew a bases-loaded walk, Logan Bell hit a sac fly, and Jaxson Jester had an RBI single to account for the inning's scoring.

Luke House (1-1) earned the win, giving up just two runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and one walk in the first six innings. Austin Bagnall retired the Savage Storm side in order in the seventh to hold the lead.

The Tigers had nine hits in the finale. In addition to Nowell's multi-hit performance, Cade Bowman went 2-for-3.

Tuesday's non-conference road game against Harding has been canceled. The Tigers are now set to travel to Ada, Oklahoma this weekend for a GAC series against East Central.
