RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Ouachita women's indoor track & field runner Izzi Breaux has been named the Great American Conference Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday.
 
Breaux set a new school record in the Mile race with a time of 5:02.00 at the Pitt State Invite this past Saturday. The Longview, Texas native placed fifth overall in the event and broke the previous school record set earlier this season by over five seconds.
 
This is Breaux's first career GAC Track Athlete of the Week award and second career GAC Weekly after winning GAC Cross Country Runner of the Week honors in the fall.
 
Breaux and the Tigers will be back in action on February 14-15 when they travel back to the Sunflower State to compete in the PSU Indoor Gorilla Classic at Pitt State University in Pittsburg, Kansas to close out the regular season.
