AUSTIN, Texas – The Ouachita men's and women's track & field teams competed well against top Division I and II talent at the 2025 Texas Relays, hosted by the SEC's University of Texas.
No team scores were kept, but Ouachita put up good numbers against some of the top programs in the nation, with the Tigers setting three school and multiple personal and season bests over the course of three days in Austin.
The Records:
Belle Lindsey broke her own program record in the women's 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.39, finishing first among DII hurdlers and in the top 25 overall in the event. The sophomore from DeQueen, Arkansas also placed in the top 20 in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:04.16, placing second out of the DII athletes.
The women's Distance Medley Relay squad of
Elise Knight,
Anna Woolsey,
Jaci McGregor, and
Izzi Breaux set a new school record and placed sixth in the event, second among DII teams with a time of 11:53.47.
The women's 4x800m Relay squad of Knight, Breaux,
Addi Durand, and McGregor broke the program record and placed ninth in the event, finishing third out of the DII squads with a time of 9:16.99.
Top Finishers:
Aden Hecht finished fifth overall, second among DII hurdlers, in the men's 400m Hurdles with a time of 54.16. The freshman from Tyler, Texas also placed 10
th among DII hurdlers, 44
th overall, in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.72.
Caden Callahan placed eighth, third among DII runners, in the men's 400m Hurdles with a time of 54.84. The junior from West Fork, Arkansas also finished fifth out of the DII hurdlers, 31
st overall, in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.88.
Macie Cash placed 12
th in the women's 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:07.99, finishing third among DII runners.
Woolsey finished fifth among DII sprinters, 35
th overall, in the women's 100m Dash with a time of 12.21, less than a second out of first place.
The women's 4x100m Relay squad of
Addrienna Gray, Woolsey, Angie Rojas, and Lindsey placed fifth in the event, third among DII squads, with a time of 48.63.
The Tigers will be splitting into two groups this upcoming weekend, with one squad heading to Searcy, Arkansas to compete in Harding University's Bryan Phillips open and another squad making the trip to Oxford, Mississippi to take part the Ole Miss Joe Walker Invitational. Both meets will take place April 4-5.
