RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – For the second straight week, the Great American Conference has awarded Ouachita's Sadbaroy Kholdarova as women's tennis player of the week.
Kholdarova was unbeaten in a pair of non-conference matches last week and has now won five singles matches in a row. Entering today's GAC match at Southern Arkansas, she is ranked No. 36 nationally in singles.
To start last week, the sophomore from Uzbekistan, along with teammate Natalia Zamora Caprirolo, earned a win at No. 1 doubles in a 6-1 loss to Maryville. Kholdarova then took down her opponent at No. 1 singles by a score of 6-2 and 6-4.
The next day in a 6-1 win over William Jewell, Kholdarova and Zamora started with a 7-5 at No. 1 doubles, followed later by a 6-4, 6-3 singles win Kholdarova on court one.
