INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The bracket for the nationals round of the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championships has been revealed with the Ouachita Tigers earning the No. 15 seed in the 16-team event.
Ouachita has drawn Barry for the round of 16 matchup, which will be played next Tuesday, May 20 in Altamonte Springs, Florida at Sanlando Park. First serve is set for noon eastern time.
The Tigers earned their spot in the bracket by defeating 21st-ranked Harding at home in a regional match on May 9 by a final score of 4-3. Ouachita is 15-9 overall and currently ranked No. 36 in the ITA national rankings. Individually, the Tigers are led by
Phil Exner, currently the No. 1-ranked singles player in the nation, and
Ramon Strassmann, ranked No. 45 nationally in singles. Exner and Strassmann are also nationally-ranked in doubles at No. 10.
Barry is one of the top men's tennis programs in the nation - winners of four of the last five NCAA Division II national championships. The Bucs are ranked No. 3 nationally as a team with an overall record of 20-3, including their most recent wins, a 4-0 victory over 14th-ranked Florida Southern and a 4-1 takedown of second-ranked West Florida this past weekend in Pensacola in a regional pod hosted by UWF. The Bucs have two nationally-ranked doubles duos and two players ranked nationally in singles.
Ouachita is making its 17th all-time appearance in the round of 16. The Tigers have made the quarterfinals five times and the semifinals twice.
