NEW ORLEANS – Ouachita women's track & field athlete Kateylnn Nachtigal has earned All-Region Honors from the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for her performance in the 3000m Steeplechase this season.
In order to earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors, athletes must rank in the top five regionally in their event.
Nachtigal finished the season ranked second in the Central Region with a time of 10:34.66 in the 3000m Steeplechase, less than two seconds out of the top spot. The junior achieved that time back in April at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California. Nachtigal's time ranks first in the GAC and 21
st nationally in Division II.
In addition to all-region honors, Nachtigal earned First Team All-GAC honors as she went back-to-back as Great American Conference Champion in the Steeplechase at the 2025 GAC Championships on May 1. Nachtigal won the event by almost four seconds with a time of 10:49.99 and helped the Tigers earn a third-place team finish.
The Rogers, Arkansas native recently became the program's first ever qualifier to the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, which are set to place on May 22-24 at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colorado. The 3000m Steeplechase has prelims scheduled for Thursday, May 22 at 7:40 p.m. CST and finals set for Friday, May 23 at 8:15 p.m. CST.
