SHAWNEE. Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's track and field team crowned an individual champion and recorded 11 top three finishes to take third place at the 2025 Great American Conference Championships.
Ouachita tallied 144.50 points en route to their top three finish in Oklahoma. Oklahoma Baptist took first with 225 points, followed by Harding in second with 189.50 points. After Ouachita in third, it was Southern Arkansas in fourth (80), Northwestern Oklahoma in fifth (53.50), Southeastern Oklahoma in sixth (39), Southern Nazarene in seventh (37), Southwestern Oklahoma in eighth (22), Arkansas Tech in ninth (17), and East Central in tenth (7.50).
The Top Threes:
Runners who placed in the top three of event finals earned First Team All-GAC Honors in the event.
Katelynn Nachtigal defended her title in the 3000m Steeplechase, taking first place with a conference meet record and NCAA Provisional time of 10:49.99 to become a back-to-back GAC Champion in the event. Nachtigal also placed eighth in the 1500m with a time of 4:44.00, less than four seconds out of first.
Alysha Colburn took second in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.05m (10').
Mackenzie Davis was the runner-up in two events, taking second in the 10,000m with a time of 37:32.28 and the 5000m with a conference meet record time of 17:34.11.
Elise Knight took second in the 3000m Steeplechase with an NCAA Provisional time of 10:53.52. Knight also placed third in the 1500m with a time of 4:40.89, less than a second out of first place.
Joey Babel took third in the 400m with a school record and NCAA Provisional time of 56.488. Babel also finished eighth in the high jump with a height of 1.60m (5' 3").
Allison Hylkema placed third in the 10,000m with a time of 38:02.23. Hylkema also took third in the 5000m with a time of 17:43.17.
Belle Lindsey posted two top three finishes. Lindsey took third in the Heptathlon with a score of 4418 points. The sophomore from DeQueen, Arkansas also took third in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 18.61. Lindsey also scored points in the 400m Hurdles, placing fourth with a time of 1:04.16.
Carley Stallings tied for third in the Pole Vault with a time of 2.90m (9' 6.25")
The 4x100m Relay team of Angie Rojas, Woolsey, Babel, and Gray placed second with a time of 47.51 seconds, less than a second out of first place.
The 4x400m Relay squad of Babel, Woolsey, Rojas, and White took second with a time of 3:53.37, less than four seconds of out first.
Podium Finishers:
Athletes who placed in places 4-6 of event finals earned Second Team All-GAC honors, and those who finished 7-8 in the finals earned All-GAC Honorable Mention honors.
Macie Cash placed fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:14.11.
Anna Woolsey took fourth in the 400m with a time of 56.490. Missing third place by 0.002 seconds. Woolsey also placed sixth in the 200m (24.94) and eighth in the 100m (13.00).
Kyla Jeffcoat tied for fifth in the Pole Vault with a height of 2.75m (9' 0.25").
Emelia Eriksson took fifth in the 10,000m with a time of 39:43.86.
Brenlee Leonard placed fifth in the Shot Put with a school record distance of 13.01m (42' 8.25").
Laynie White finished fifth in the Heptathlon with a score of 4198 points.
Marin Murray took seventh in the 5000m with a time of 18:12.57.
Reagan Carrouth placed seventh in the Pole Vault with a height of (9' 0.25").
Jaci McGregor placed seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:43.90, less than four seconds out of first place. McGregor also took seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:22.82.
Addrienna Gray finished eighth in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:06.88.
This year's third place finish ties last year's finish, but the Tigers scored 22 more points compared to last season's championships.
There have been a few Tigers that have hit NCAA Provisional marks over the course of the season. Those runners will wait for final cuts to see who earns a spot to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships in Pueblo, Colorado.
