TEMPE, Arizona – For the third straight season, Ouachita's Phil Exner has earned ITA All-America status as one of the best players in all of NCAA Division II men's tennis.
Exner wrapped up his collegiate career at No. 2 in the final ITA singles rankings for the 2024-25 year. The Konstanz, Germany native held the No. 1 spot for five weeks throughout the spring season and was never ranked lower than No. 2.
For the entire 2024-25 season, Exner posted a 34-8 singles record, including an 18-6 record at No. 1 this spring during dual matches. He was 16-2 in the fall portion of the schedule, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the ITA Cup in Georgia.
In doubles, Exner and teammate Ramon Strassmann just missed out on ITA All-America status with a final national ranking of No. 12. The duo posted a 33-10 overall record this past year and a 17-8 mark at No. 1 during spring duals. They went 16-2 in doubles during the fall, highlighted by winning the ITA central region championship.
Strassmann finished the season ranked No. 35 nationally in singles with a final mark of 20-12 overall and a 14-8 record during spring duals.
As a team, the Tigers finish the year ranked No. 25 nationally following the program's 17th appearance at the NCAA round of 16 and a final record of 15-10. The team won the MIAA/GAC South Division title this year with a perfect 4-0 record.
The ITA has also released its final regional rankings for the year, featuring Ouachita at No. 2 as a team, Exner at No. 2 in singles, Strassmann at No. 10 in singles, and Exner/Strassmann at No. 3 in doubles.
