BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Ouachita men's and women's cross country teams both finished ninth on Saturday at the Texas A&M Invitational.
With the greater majority of the field consisting of NCAA Division I runners, the Tigers competed well. The men's team finished ninth out of 13 teams. The women's team finished ninth out of 14 teams.
Leading the way once again for the Tigers were reigning Great American Conference runners of the week
Caleb Greenwich and
Allison Hylkema.
In his first collegiate 8K, Greenwich finished 18th out of 142 finishers with a time of 24:31.6. Hylkema finished 33rd out of 142 finishers with a 5K time of 18:28.2.
The rest of Ouachita's top five on the men's side included
Gabriel Metoyer in 53rd (25:27.1),
Tate Stacks in 73rd (25:56.7),
Noah Embrey in 78th (26:02.4), and
Dylan Dew in 86th (26:11.8).
On the women's side, the rest of Ouachita's top five included
Lucy Holden in 55th (18:57.8),
Elise Knight in 64th (19:07.3),
Ellie Hoemann in 78th (19:26.5), and
Katelynn Nachtigal in 80th (19:28.8).
Blair Turpen was right behind Nachtigal at 19:30.7.
The Tigers are back in action next Friday, September 19 at the Lois Davis Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas.
