TOPEKA, Kansas – Aaron Osmond and
Moritz Buss were a tiebreaker away from winning the ITA central region doubles championship this past weekend in Kansas.

The duo worked through the doubles championship bracket with wins over tandems from Northwest Missouri, Southern Arkansas, and Nebraska-Kearney to set up a semifinals Sunday matchup against Harding's Florian Gayme and Jan Alexander Has, resulting in an 8-6 win to move into the finals.
Osmond and Buss were matched up with another tandem from Harding in the finals in Adrian Solorzano and Cian Mikkelsen. The Bisons took the first set 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker followed by a 6-4 for the Tigers in the second set. Harding's pair came out on top in the tiebreaker 10-6.
With their performance, Osmond and Buss are expected to get an invite to the ITA Cup, which will be held October 16-19 once again in Rome, Georgia.
Also in doubles,
Ramon Strassmann and
Elias Lagger went 2-2.
Guillaume Randoux and
Yarin Aebi went 1-1.
Randoux continued his impressive start to his collegiate career by highlighting Ouachita's singles competition. The freshman from Belgium started with three straight wins before falling in the quarterfinals to top-seeded Adrian Solorzano from Harding.
Other singles results for the Tigers included Strassman and Osmond both going 2-1, while Aebi, Lagger, and Buss all went 1-1.
Tinus Mueller went 0-1.
Next on the fall schedule for the Tigers is the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagle Invite October 10-11.
