ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita cross country teams open the 2025 season this Saturday, September 6 at home hosting the annual Bob Gravett Invitational.
The men's race is set for an 8 a.m. start on the Ouachita cross country course behind the newly-dedicated Hickingbotham Family Track & Field. The women's race will follow at 8:30 a.m. There will also be high school races on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
The Tiger women's cross country team looks for a good start to the season in defense of its second Great American Conference championship in the past three seasons. The team includes three returning All-GAC runners in
Allison Hylkema,
Katelynn Nachtigal, and
Elise Knight along with the 2022 and 2024 GAC Coach of the Year
Steve Guymon. The men's team finished fourth in last year's conference championship meet with many runners coming back from that squad, including seven seniors.

Bob Gravett is a member of the NAIA National Hall of Fame, the Arkansas Track & Field Hall of Fame, and the Ouachita Athletics Hall of Fame. He led the cross country and track & field programs at Ouachita for nearly 30 years and coached 71 NAIA All-Americans, one Olympian, and one NAIA Hall of Famer.
