ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's and women's cross country teams both earned team victories at the Bob Gravett Invitational on a rainy Saturday morning to open the 2025 season.
The men's team started the day with a dominating first-place finish out of four teams with a team score of 20, which was 27 points ahead of second-place Southern Arkansas. The women's team finished with a score of 33, 11 points ahead of second-place Arkansas Tech.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS: Ouachita freshman
Caleb Greenwich finished second overall with a 5K time of 14:50.82 in his collegiate debut.
Gabriel Metoyer was third overall at 15:16.76.
Tate Stacks finished fifth at 15:24.73.
Evan Armitage was seventh at 15:30.34.
Henry Woods came in eighth in his collegiate debut at 15:33.35.
Dylan Dew finished ninth at 15:33.71.
Noah Embrey rounded out the top 10 with a time of 15:34.11.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS:
Allison Hylkema set a new personal 5K record time of 18:02.65 and a second-place overall finish to lead the Tigers.
Elise Knight came in fifth and also set a new PR with a time of 18:20.02.
Ellie Hoemann broke her PR by nearly a minute with a seventh-place finish and a time of 18:35.31.
Lucy Holden set a new PR in ninth with a time of 18:40.49.
Katelynn Nachtigal completed the top 10 at 18:44.59.
The teams will head south next weekend to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday, September 13.
