MEN’S TENNIS PICKED SECOND IN MIAA/GAC PRESEASON POLL

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association/Great American Conference has announced its preseason coaches poll for men's tennis with the Ouachita Tigers coming at No. 2 in the south division.

The Tigers earned 45 poll points and received one first-place vote in the south division, which also consists of Harding, Southern Arkansas, Arkansas-Fort Smith, Southeastern Oklahoma State, and new to the league this year, Northeastern State. Harding earned the other nine first-place votes to start the spring as the favorite in the division.

The MIAA/GAC North Division consists of, in order of preseason coaches poll rankings, Washburn, Emporia State, Northwest Missouri State, Nebraska Kearney, Augustana, and Newman.

Ouachita went 4-0 in MIAA/GAC South Division play last year, advanced to the finals of the conference championship tournament, beat Harding in the NCAA regional match, and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 in Florida. Six student-athletes return from last year's team, including all-conference performers Ramon Strassmann, Aaron Osmond, and Yarin Aebi.

The 2026 spring season gets underway next weekend. The Tigers are set to host Collin College next Saturday, January 31. First serve is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
