DURANT, Oklahoma – The Ouachita baseball team wrapped up its Great American Conference road series against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday with a double header split, falling in the first game 8-4 and winning the series finale 6-5.
The Savage Storm earned the series win after also winning the series opener on Friday by a score of 7-4. Ouachita moves to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in GAC games. Southeastern moves to 4-4 and 2-1.
In the series finale Tiger victory, which was the seven-inning game of the series, Ouachita had a quality start from
Braden Tucker, who allowed just one run on two hits in the first five innings to earn the win and move to 2-0 this season.
Lucas Mercado came on to earn the four out save, his first of the season, getting the help from a double play in the seventh to seal the win.
Offensively in the finale, the Tigers scored their six runs on eight hits.
Joseph Bolin was 2-for-2 with a walk.
Reece McWilliams had a two-run double in the second.
Cade Bowman hit a two-run home run in the fourth and added another RBI on a sac fly in the sixth.
In the first game on Friday, Ouachita jumped out to an early lead on a two-run home run by Bolin in the top of the first inning. The Tigers scratched across one run in the fourth on an RBI double from
Jaren Ceasar and had one more in the fifth on an RBI single by Bowman.
Southeastern had a four-run third inning rally and totaled 15 hits to highlight its offensive production.
The Tigers are back home for their next five games, including a non-conference game against Harding on Tuesday and a three-game GAC series next weekend against East Central.
