RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Following his first career complete game, Ouachita right-hander
Chase Oberle has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Oberle was instrumental in one of Ouachita's four wins over the past week. The graduate student from Justin, Texas tossed his first career complete game at Ouachita in a 6-2 win over East Central on Friday afternoon in the series opener. The purple Tigers went on to sweep the orange Tigers to complete at 4-0 week and move to 9-2 overall this season.
Against ECU, Oberle went the full nine and gave up just two runs on eight hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.
Oberle is a two-time All-GAC First Team honoree in his career and is now a four-time GAC Pitcher of the Week award winner.
The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday at home against Delta State. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Rab Rodgers Field.
