SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – The Ouachita baseball team put an exclamation point on its weekend conference road series against Oklahoma Baptist with a 13-0 victory in the rubber match on Saturday.
Austin Bagnall (1-3) earned his first win of the season with five scoreless innings, allowing just six Bison hits, striking out three, and walking just one.
Braden Tucker came on in relief and preserved the combined shutout, facing just one batter over the minimum in the final two innings.
Meanwhile, the Tiger offense was backing up the pitching with the team's second most runs scored in a game this season.
Kyndall Cassidy was one of the top run producers in the win all without an official at bat. He hit a sac fly in the first inning to drive in the game's first run and had a bases loaded walk to start Ouachita's four-run third inning.
The Tigers added more crooked numbers with three in the fifth and five in the sixth to take a double-digit lead.
Jaren Ceasar led the Tigers in hits with three.
Ashton Ybarra,
Reece McWilliams, and
Cade Bowman all had two.
Octavio Mendivil was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
The Tigers are back in action this Tuesday and Wednesday in Memphis, Tennessee for non-conference each day against Christian Brothers.
