FORT WORTH, Texas – The 38th-ranked Ouachita men's tennis team wrapped up a 3-0 weekend in Texas with a pair of wins on Sunday over Hawaii Pacific and UT Permian Basin.
To start the day, the Tigers (9-1) took down the Sharks of Hawaii Pacific in a back-and-forth match that ended in 4-3 victory.
Yarin Aebi broke the tie with a three-set win on court two in singles.
Other singles victors over the Sharks included
Ramon Strassmann, and
Guillaume Randoux. The Tigers held a 1-0 lead heading into singles thanks to doubles wins on courts one and two from the duos of Aebi and Strassmann and
Moritz Buss and
Aaron Osmond.
In the win over UTPB, which ended at the clinching point at 4-1, the Tigers swept through doubles to hold a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
Maximilian Brenner started singles with a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep over his Falcon counterpart on court six. Randoux later gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead with a win on four. Strassmann clinched the match for the Tigers with a close battle on court one, winning both sets by a score of 6-4.
Ouachita is back in Arkadelphia for a three-match homestand, starting this upcoming Wednesday, March 11 against Emporia State.
