KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the Great American Conference announced its all-conference teams and yearly award winners for men's tennis on Tuesday with five Ouachita Tigers making the list.
Senior
Ramon Strassmann earned one of the combined league's sportsmanship awards and picked up second team all-conference honors in singles. He and teammate
Yarin Aebi earned all-conference second team honors in doubles.
Freshman
Guillaume Randoux earned a spot on the second team for singles. The tandem of
Aaron Osmond and
Moritz Buss was selected for the all-conference honorable mention team.
Strassmann is now a two-time All-MIAA/GAC honoree in both singles and doubles. Overall this season, the Switzerland native is 26-8 in singles. He went 18-4 this spring at the No. 1 line including a 3-2 mark against MIAA/GAC south division opponents. In doubles he is 20-12 overall this season, including a 15-6 recorded with Aebi this spring in dual play.
Randoux is in midst of a stellar freshman campaign with an overall singles record of 25-8. The Belgium native was 16-5 in the spring dual season and a perfect 5-0 in conference matches.
Buss and Osmond were nationally ranked in doubles all season and went into postseason with a 19-11 overall record. The duo was 13-8 in spring dual matches and 3-2 in conference.
The Tigers are in action on Wednesday at 2 p.m. against Northwest Missouri State in the first round of the MIAA/GAC Championship Tournament in Springfield, Missouri.
