DURANT, Okla.- The Lady Tigers traveled to Durant, Oklahoma for the South Central Shootout, a tournament that initially had the Lady Tigers (4-3) scheduled for six games. What they weren't expecting however, was the inclement weather that arrived and cut the tournament short, leaving Ouachita with only three of their six scheduled games. In the first game of the tournament, they suffered a loss to the University of Central Oklahoma (2-3). The Lady Bronchos proved troubling for Ouachita's pitchers, posting a 9-3 victory over the Lady Tigers.

Rayn House started the game for the Lady Tigers, but gave up eight runs, all of which were earned, in just two innings of action. Abbi Frakes came in to relieve House, throwing five innings while only giving up three hits and one run. Ouachita's offense struggled as well, not getting anything on the board until the third inning, when Bailey Sanders sent a two-run shot over the fence. Sanders finished the game with a 2 of 4 performance and two RBI's. Megan Askew recorded the only other RBI for the Lady Tigers, coming during a 1 of 3 performance from the plate.

UCO's Rachel Stevenson took the mound, throwing all seven innings while only giving up five hits and three runs to the potent Lady Tigers offense. Kayce Rains and Nathalie Timmermans both recorded home runs for the Lady Bronchos, while Rains recorded four RBI in a 2 of 4 performance. Timmermans added three RBI of her own while Kacie Edwards added the Lady Bronchos other two RBI's. Only two players for UCO finished the game without a hit.

Ouachita returns to the diamond on February 25, when they host Henderson State for a match-up at Sully Anderson Field. They will play a double-header, with the first game starting at 1 p.m.
