Baseball Sweeps Day One of Action at Arkansas-Monticello

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Ouachita Tigers (17-17, 5-6 GAC) traveled to Monticello, Arkansas to kick off a weekend series with the Boll Weevils of Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday. During the first day of action, the Tigers put up an unbelievable number of runs, including 14 runs in the first game, en route to a sweep of the first day of action. The Tigers took victories by scores of 14-9 and 6-0.

In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, the Tigers posted a 14 run performance behind the bat of Brock Green. Green finished the game 3-of-4 from the plate, including two home runs, six runs batted in and four runs scored for the Tigers. Beau Martin recorded the victory for Ouachita, throwing 4.2 innings in relief while not giving up any hits and recording two strikeouts. Keegan Ghidotti posted a solid performance as well, recording a 2-of-3 performance, recording two RBI's and finishing with four runs scored. Eddie Smith took the loss for Monticello, giving up four runs and three hits during his inning on the mound.

In the second game of the day, the Tigers got on the board early and were able to hang on to their lead, as they knocked in five runs during the first four innings of play. Ouachita's Davis Ward took the win in the game, throwing a complete game and only giving up 6 hits.  Parker Norris finished with a 3-of-4 performance, including two runs batted in and two runs scored, while Keegan Ghidotti finished 2-of-4 with a home run.

The Tigers return to the field tomorrow, when they face off with the Boll Weevils at 1 p.m. in Monticello.
