Tigers Drop Final Game of Weekend Series with East Central

Box Score ADA, Okla.- The Ouachita Tigers (22-20, 9-9 GAC) closed out their weekend series with the East Central University Tigers (24-18, 8-9 GAC) on Sunday, falling by a score of 5-4 after taking victories in the first two games on Saturday. Ouachita lost the game on a walk-off hit by pitch for East Central in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Zac Treece took the loss for Ouachita, throwing 8.1 innings of the game in an unusual starting role. Treece gave up 11 hits and five runs in the game while recording three strikeouts. Treece held ECU to just two runs through eight innings but was just unable to close out the game in the last half inning of play.

Ouachita's Keegan Ghidotti finished with a 3-of-5 performance from the plate, including two runs batted in and a run scored. Tom Ward recorded a 2-of-3 performance, including an RBI, while Parker Norris finished 2-of-5 with an RBI.

Ouachita scored three runs in the top of the ninth and looked like they were going to complete a series sweep before East Central answered with a three run performance in the bottom of the inning.

Heath Stuckey enede up recording the win for East Central, coming in for an inning of relief pitching and giving up four hits and three runs.

Ouachita will try to get back on track on Tuesday, when they take on Arkansas Tech in Russellville for a mid-week exhibition game. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
