Lack of Offense Dooms Lady Tigers In Sunday Doubleheader

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Ouachita Lady Tigers (18-29, 6-20 GAC) looked to close their regular season on a positive note on Sunday, facing off against the Lady Muleriders of Southern Arkansas (24-31, 11-17 GAC) in day two of their weekend conference series. Ouachita posted more hits than Southern Arkansas in both games, but the day ended in a pair of 2-0 losses.

In the first game of the afternoon, Rayn House took the loss despite a solid pitching performance, holding the Lady Muleriders to four hits and two runs. Teresa Mursuli finished the game with a 2-of-3 performance from the plate, while Megan Askew, Jocelyn Jones and Sarah Watson all added hits as well. Taelor Wheeler and Brittany Wood recorded the only RBI's of the game for Southern Arkansas, while Macie Tillery took the victory for the Lady Muleriders after seven innings on the mound.

In the second game of Sunday's action, the Lady Tigers only gave up two hits to Southern Arkansas while posting six of their own, but it wasn't enough to grab a win from SAU. Abbi Frakes took the loss for Ouachita, pitching six innings and holding the Lady Muleriders to two hits and two runs. Alexis Johns finished 2-of-4 from the plate, while the other four hits for the Lady Tigers came from four different players. Hanna Gill captured her third victory of the weekend for Southern Arkansas, throwing seven innings and giving up six hits and no runs to the Lady Tigers.
