Ouachita's Late Rally Falls Short in Rubber Match Against Harding

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- Following a split in day one of action against the Bisons of Harding University (21-15, 7-9 GAC), the Ouachita Tigers (19-19, 7-8 GAC) looked to capture a series victory over Harding during the rubber match on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers placed a runner on third base and were looking to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to advance him across home plate and ended up falling by a final score of 4-3.

Ouachita's Josh Everett started the game on the mound, throwing six innings and giving up 11 hits and four runs, all of which were earned. Zac Treece came in to relieve Everett in the seventh inning and finished out the game, throwing three innings and recording five strikeouts while only giving up one hit to the Bisons. Parker Norris, Keegan Ghidotti and Brock Green all recorded runs batted in for Ouachita, but the three runs just weren't enough.

Harding's Lucas Waddell took the victory after going eight innings deep and only giving up four hits and three runs in the game. Ryan Modglin posted a game high two RBI's, accounting for half of his teams runs.

Ouachita looks to bounce back from the loss on Tuesday, when they host Arkansas-Monticello for an exhibition game at 3 p.m. at Rab Rodgers Field.
