ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Ouachita Lady Tiger softball team continued conference play on Friday afternoon, kicking off a four game series against Arkansas Tech with a doubleheader. The Lady Tigers dropped the first game by a score of 2-1, before falling in the second game by a score of 4-1.
In their 2-1 loss, the Lady Tigers recorded more hits than the Golden Suns, but just weren't able to put them together.
Megan Askew homered in the first inning, giving Ouachita their only run of the game. Arkansas Tech did their damage in the sixth inning though, plating one runner on an RBI single, and another on a walk.
Abbi Frakes took the loss despite pitching a solid seven innings and only giving up three hits and two runs, while recording seven strikeouts.
The second game saw a 4-1 win for Arkansas Tech in which they scored two runs in the third inning and another two in the seventh inning.
Ouachita's only run of the game came in the sixth inning, when
Teresa Mursuli recorded an RBI double that scored
Bailey Sanders.
Amber Oxford took the loss after throwing six innings and holding Tech to just one earned run.
The Lady Tigers and Golden Suns return to action on Saturday, with first pitch coming at 1 p.m.
