Nantz's Walk-Off Single Steals Win for Tigers

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- Tiger Softball pulled out a 6-5 win over University of Central Missouri on Sunday in a nail-biting, eight innings.

The Central Missouri Jennies got on the board early in the game by bringing Bray Bivens into home with a double hit by Lindsey Dawson.

The Tigers were quick to come back when a double by Suzie Gresham advanced Jocelyn Jones and Teresa Mursuli to home plate, bringing in two runs. Macy Nantz hit another double bringing in Gresham and Taylor Anderson, which put the score at 4-1 Tigers in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the third, the Jennies scored with a walk after the bases were loaded, and brought in two more runs in the fourth inning with singles hit by Bivens and Dawson tying the game up 4-4.

Both teams went without scoring for the next four innings until the Jennies brought in one run in the top of the eight when Dawson advanced home after a strikeout.

The Tigers responded quickly, however, in the bottom of the eighth when Gresham hit a single, advancing Parrish Reed to the plate. Nantz followed later in the inning, hitting another single to bring Jones in for the game winning run.

The Tigers (2-2) will finish the series against Central Missouri and then travel to Newman University on Feb. 14.
