Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers scored 12 runs in seven innings and Davis ward struck out seven on his way to a complete-game shutout, as the Tigers defeated Central missouri in their home home opener, 12-0. The Tigers are now 3-2 on the year.
Heading into the bottom of the third with a 2-0 lead, the Tigers' offense caught fire at the plate.
Jace Melby hit a bases loaded double to drive in two runs, scoring
Tyler Faught and
Chris Tavares. With two outs,
Landon Moore would single to drive in Moore and
Will Wallace.
Parker Norris would single home Wallace to increas the Ouachita lead over Central Missouri to 7-0.
The Tigers would score one run in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Davis Ward was domiante all game, striking out seven, walking only one and not allowing a hit until the top of the seventh inning, when Central Missouri leftfielder Brad Wilson would smash a single up the middle. Davis would give up teo more singles before forcing third baseman Miles Orscheln to ground into a 5-3 double play.
Landon Moore went 2-3, scoring three runs and driving in two. Leadoff man
Parker Norris went 3-5 with a stolen base and two RBI. DH
