Frakes and Lacina Shine In Doubleheader Opener Versus Harding

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Kate Lacina hit a solo homerun in the top of the ninth and Abbie Frakes pitched nine scoreless innings to give the Lady Tigers a 1-0 victory ovder Harding in Searcy on Friday. The win came in the first game of a doubleheader. The Lady igers fell in game two 6-1.

The Lady Tigers were held to three hits heading into the ninth inning. Lacina led off the inning with a solo blast over the wall in centerfield. Ouachita would load the bases with two outs, but were unable to get another run home.

Frakes, who struck out four and walked none, held Harding to four hits in the game. She improved her record to 10-13 on the season and increased her strikeout total to 124 on the year.

Macy Nantz, who has been out with an injury since February, started game two for Ouachita. She got hit hard early, allowing five funs in the first two innings before settling down and finding her groove in the third. She allowed four earned runs over six innings.

Teresa Mursuli drove in the Lady Tigers only run with a two-out single up the middle to score Parrish Reed.

The Lady Tigers return to action tomorrow with a doubleheader in Searcy against Harding. First piych for game one is set for 12:00 pm.
