Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers and Harding Bisons squared off in Searcy on Tuesday for a pair of non-conference games. Harding outscored the Tigers 7-4 in the opener and Tiger
Matt Sinclair earned his first victory on the mound to help Ouachita take game two, 8-6.
Harding jumped out to an early lead in the second inning, scoring four runs on five hits. The Tigers scored two in the third off a RBI double by
Jace Melby and a RBI single by
Will Wallace. Wallace and Melby combined for five of the Tigers 11 hits in game one. Harding extended their lead to 6-2 i in the bottom of the third. Melby drove in to more runs in the fifth inning with his second double of the game, but Harding would add an insurance run in the sixth and take game one, 7-4.
, After falling behind 3-2 in the first inning of game two, the Tigers responded with two runs in the second inning and three in the fourth to take a 7-3 lead.
Drew Feuerbacher, Wallace and Melby each accounted for an RBI while
Reuben Miller drove in two with an opposite-field single in the fourth.
Harding cut the Ouachita lead to one in the bottom of the sixth inning with no outs.
Matt Sinclair entered in relief and earned the victory by allowing only one hit for the remainder of the sixth and retiring the side.
Lance Cullum pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn his fourth save of the season.
The Tigers improve to 17-10 on the year and are 10-3 in conference play. They travel to Weatherford, Okla. this weekend to face the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State.
