Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers dropped both games of a doubleheader against the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm on Thursday. Ouachita fell 13-1 in game one and 8-2 in game two.
On the day, the Tigers were held two only seven hits. Ouachita also committed a total of five errors. The Crimson Storm dominated offensively behind a total of 30 hits.
SNU (13-18, 9-12 GAC) took an early lead in the first game, scoring 10 runs in the first two innings. The Tigers responded in the bottom of the second when
Macy Nantz homered over the center field wall, but the Crimson Storm limited Ouachita to the single run.
Southern Nazarene later extended its lead with three runs in the third inning, and after 2.5 scoreless innings, the Crimson Storm claimed the 13-1 victory.
Ouachita fell behind early again in game two, as the Crimson Storm scored four runs through the first four innings. In the bottom of the fourth, Ouachita rallied to score two runs on two hits and one error to decrease the deficit to 4-2.
Southern Nazarene answered, however, in the top of the sixth inning with a four-run inning that included back-to-back home runs. SNU then held Ouachita without a run in the sixth and seventh.
Macy Nantz (4-9) was handed the loss in game one, and
Jade Sones (1-5) was the losing pitcher in game two.
Delaney Bedunah made an appearance in both games for the Tigers, pitching for five innings and allowing only three runs.
The Tigers (9-19, 5-14 GAC) will host Southern Nazarene again on Friday, for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Ouachita will then travel across the street on Tuesday, April 7, for a doubleheader against the Henderson State Reddies.
