SB Preview: Tigers head to Weatherford

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Coming off their best week since conference play began, the Ouachita Tigers softball team heads to Weatherford for a four game series with the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are 13-27 overall and 11-19 in the GAC.

Ouachita (10-25, 4-23) went 3-3 last week highlighted by a two-game series sweep of the rival Henderson State Reddies. A resurgence in the Tigers' offense was due largely in part to the bat of Macy Nantz. Her performance at the late last week earned her GAC Player of the Week honors, the first for a member of the team this year.

The Tigers found their power in the four game series versus Northwestern Oklahoma State. Four Tigers accounted for the eight long-balls hit in the series, including three by Nantz and a walk-off three-run shot by Alex Jennings.

Entering the series, the Bulldogs are 9-5 at home. They are led at the plate by Taya Haney (.348 avg., 6 HR, 29 RBI) and Tori Hawk (.288 avg., 6 HR, 24 RBI). Haney also leads the team with 17 starts in the circle. She enters the series with a record of 5-10 and a 5.20 ERA.

The two teams will square off today with a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tomorrow's doubleheader begins at noon. Live stats and video links are available here
