ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team is heading into its second series of the conference season this weekend as they head to Bethany, Okla., to face off against Southern Nazarene. The Tigers are coming off their conference opener against Oklahoma Baptist last weekend when they were swept in a three-game series. The Tigers' record currently stands at 2-9.
Leading the Tigers offensively is
Kyle Alexander. Alexander leads the Tigers with a .438 batting average. Alexander also has seven RBI's. Also performing well is
Ty Owens who has a .326 batting average and seven RBI's. Leading the Tigers from the mound is
Abe Young with a 2.84 earned run average.
The Tigers' opponent this weekend, Southern Nazarene, has not had a good start to the season either. They currently have a 1-10 record, with their lone win coming in their last game against Henderson. Mike Descisciolo is the leading hitter for the Crimson Storm. He has hit six home runs and picked up 14 RBI's on the season while maintaining a .382 batting average.
The Tigers will face off against Southern Nazarene three times this weekend. The first game will be on Friday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. The Tigers will then play a doubleheader on Saturday with games at 12 and 3 p.m.
