ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team will face off against Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys at home this weekend as it continues its conference season.
The Tigers are heading into the series having swept Southern Nazarene in their series last weekend. The Tigers defeated the Crimson Storm by a score of 8-1 on Friday, and then by scores of 7-5 and 11-4 on Saturday.
Aaron Studdard led the Tigers from the plate with five RBI's and one homerun. Justin Wiegle and
Ty Owens also homered on the weekend for the Tigers.
John Franklin Matros,
Abe Young, and
Adam Bahloul were the three winning pitchers for Ouachita.
Arkansas Tech is high on confidence heading into this weekend's series. They have won all six of their conference games thus far by a total of 48 runs to 11, including a series sweep last weekend over Northwestern Oklahoma. Wonder Boys' second baseman Dylan McDearmon currently leads the conference with a .408 batting average.
The games this weekend will begin on Friday, Mar. 3 at 2 p.m., and will continue on Saturday with games at 12 and 3 p.m. Saturday's Tiger Tailgate is sponsored by Southern Bancorp. They will be providing free hot dogs and hamburgers to all fans in attendance.
