ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' softball team (9-7, 3-1 GAC) will be traveling to Russellville, Ark., this weekend to face the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (10-6, 4-0 GAC).
 
The Tigers are heading into this weekend's affair coming off of a successful series against Southern Nazarene to open the conference season. The Tigers defeated the Crimson Storm in both games on Friday and in one of two games on Saturday to win the series. The Tigers run ruled the Crimson Storm in the second game of the series, winning by a final score of 13-1 after five innings. The final game of the series featured a walk-off home run in extra innings to see the Tigers win, 5-4.
 
Sarah Johnson led the Tigers from the batter's box last weekend and earned a share of the GAC player of the week. Johnson had eight hits and five RBI's in the four games. Kesley O'Brien earned two wins on the weekend from the pitcher's mound.
 
Arkansas Tech will head into this weekend's series coming off of a series sweep against Northwestern Oklahoma last weekend. The Golden Suns are 10-6 on the season. This weekend's series will be the home opener for Tech.
 
The games this weekend will begin on Friday, Mar. 3 at 3 and 5 p.m. Games will continue on Saturday at 12 and 2 p.m. All games will be played in Russellville, Ark.
