Box Score CONWAY, Ark. – The Ouachita softball team fell 10-2 to the University of Central Arkansas on Wednesday evening.
It was the second time this season Ouachita (19-25) has made the trip to the campus of Central Arkansas (23-19). The Tigers first trip to Farris Field was a neutral site matchup against Arkansas Tech. Ouachita and Tech split the weekend series at Central Arkansas.
The Bears got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Designated player Brianna McArthur hit a two-RBI double to center field giving the Bears a 2-0 lead.
A wild pitch scored the Bears third run of the contest before McArthur hit an RBI single left field. The runs gave Central Arkansas a 4-0 advantage heading into the fourth stanza of play.
In the top of the fourth inning,
Sarah Johnson (Mount Vernon, Texas) hit a one out double to right center. Johnson came around to score on a throwing error by the Bears shortstop. Jordan Fielder then came to the plate and crushed an RBI double to right center. The scoring cut into the Bears deficit going into the bottom half of the frame.
The Bears tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth inning before having their offense explode in the bottom of the fifth. Central Arkansas scored five runs to walk-off with the victory over the Tigers.
Ouachita will travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State this weekend.
