Reddies Blank Tigers

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tiger's baseball team lost 6-0 on Friday night to arch rival Henderson State.

Ouachita (13-35, 8-22 GAC) have lost both meetings to Henderson State (29-16, 21-10 GAC) this season. J.F. Matros (Arkadelphia, Ark.) started his 50th career game on Friday night and added to his career conference record for innings pitched and games started.

On Tuesday night, the Tigers offense belted out 13 runs off 12 hits against the No. 3 team in the country. Friday night, was a different story. Ouachita managed just three hits against Henderson State starter Bryant Haralason.

Haralason pitched a complete game shutout and struck out 10 Tigers in the process.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning. Brandon Pollock hit an RBI single to right field giving the Reddies an early 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Henderson State broke the game open with a three-run inning. Caleb Carr, Nolan Ryan and Zack Gray had consecutive RBI hits in the inning.

Henderson State scored tacked on runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings. Ouachita's ninth inning rally came up short as Henderson took game one of the three game series.

Kyle Alexander (Conway, Ark.), Victor Draijer (The Netherlands) and Ty Owens (El Dorado, Ark.) all picked up hits for the Tigers in the loss.

Ouachita and Henderson State will play again tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m.
