Tiger Softball Heads to Texas for First Road Games of the Season

SAN ANGELO, Texas –Ouachita Baptist's offense was unable to get going as the Tigers dropped two in a double-header against #21 Tarleton State and Angelo State.

GAME 1: Tarleton State University 11, Ouachita Baptist University 0

Tarleton's bats came alive early in the first inning as they put up a seven spot in the top half. The Tigers were unable to answer as game one did not go in favor of Ouachita.

Madison Miller started for the Tigers and went 1 inning and allowed seven earned runs. At the plate, she went 1-1 with a walk. 

Faith Melton came in relief of Miller and went 4 innings, struck out four and allowed four earned runs on six hits. 

The Tigers recorded just four hits by four different players.

Ouachita dropped to 1-3 while Tarleton State improved to 8-2.

GAME 2: Ouachita Baptist 0, Angelo State 4

Leighton Withers went 2-3 from the plate, but she was the only Tiger to record a hit in a second-straight shutout.

Angelo State's offense was held at bay, but too many walks in the third allowed the Rams to take a 2-0 lead. ASU came back in the fourth with a two-run homer to stretch its lead to 4-0.

Nicole Arreola started for the Tigers and went 3.2 innings, allowed two hits and four earned runs.

Faith Melton closed things out for the Tigers as she tossed 2.1 scoreless innings.

The Tigers dropped to 1-4 and Angelo State improved to 9-3.
