Box Score 2 SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Ouachita Tigers dropped both games in a double-header against Texas A&M International and Angelo State University.
GAME 1: Texas A&M International 7, Ouachita Baptist 2
The Lady Tigers tried to mount a comeback in the sixth inning but fell short in a five-run loss.
Madison Miller started for the Tigers but went just a third of an inning. She allowed three earned runs on three walks and a hit.
Faith Melton came in to relieve Miller in the first and went the rest of the game. In 6.2 innings she gave up four earned runs on seven hits.
The Tiger offense was led by Tobi Finley, Leighton Withers and Madison Miller. Finley had two hits in four at bats and both Withers and Miller delivered RBIs in the sixth inning.
A&M International jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top half of the first as those runs proved to be enough to win it. In the sixth, the Tigers made it a 4-2 game, but was not able to complete the comeback.
The Tigers fell to 1-5 while A&M International improved to 4-8.
GAME 2: Ouachita Baptist 2, Angelo State 6
The Tiger offense was unable to get going once again in a four-run loss.
Hannah Stuart started for the Tigers and was unable to record an out. She gave up four earned runs on three hits.
Madison Miller came in to relieve Stuart and went 4.2 innings and gave up two earned runs on two hits and struck out three.
Faith Melton finished the game off in 1.1 innings with no hits and no runs allowed.
Four Tigers recorded hits as Ouachita scored its two runs on an RBI double by Macy Wilson and a wild pitch advancement by Kyndal Moyer.
Angelo State outhit the Tigers by just one, but two Rambelle homeruns in the bottom of the first were the difference.
The Tigers fell to 1-6, while Angelo State improved to 10-3.
