ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers (2-4 GAC, 5-8 Overall) host the Hendrix College Warriors (3-7) at Rab Rodgers Field for a 2:00 p.m. midweek game on Tuesday.
Recent History
The Tigers hold an undefeated 1-0 record against the Warriors since 2016. The game between the two schools was a 3-1 Ouachita victory in Conway, Arkansas, back in 2016.
2019 Season
The Warriors had a historic season in 2019, finishing 30-14 overall, 15-6 in conference. Hendrix went deep into the Southern Athletic Association Tournament, but was eliminated by Rhodes College 6-12 in the final game.
This Season
Hendrix is off to a slow start this season. The team took part in the Rusty Greer and Jackie Moore Collegiate Classic to open up their season at AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Warriors began the 2020 season with back-to-back losses to the then 22
nd ranked Texas Lutheran in a 2-12 game, and 23
rd ranked Concordia (Texas) in a 4-7 loss. The Warriors responded with three straight wins to push above .500 for the only time this season. They closed out the tournament with a 7-5 win over Hardin-Simmons for their first win of the season. The following weekend, Hendrix took on Millikin for a three-game series. They won the first two games 8-1 and 8-7, but dropped game three 0-4. The Warriors continued their losing-streak in a midweek game 1-5 against the University of the Ozarks, before getting swept in their weekend series against the 8
th ranked University of Washington at St. Louis – 0-10, 2-7, and 5-9.
Scouting the Warriors
The Warriors are taking a five-game losing-streak into the matchup with the Tigers. Adam Bland and Tom Flisk lead the Warriors offensively as the only two hitters with an above .300 average.
