Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita was unable to hold on to an early lead as the Missouri- St. Louis bats came to life in the final innings in an 11-2 Tiger loss.
St. Louis was held at bay through four innings as the Tigers held a 2-0 lead. Come the fifth, though, UMSL exploded for six runs on two three-run homers.
The Tritons continued to pour it on in the sixth, putting up five more to end the game with a nine-run victory.
Faith Melton started for the Tigers and went 4.1 innings giving up three earned runs on four hits. Hannah Stuart came in to relieve Melton and failed to record an out giving up three earned runs on two hits and a walk.
Madison Miller finished the game up in 1.2 innings of work as she gave up five runs, four earned, on three hits and two walks.
The Tiger's 2-0 lead was produced off a wild pitch and a Leighton Withers solo shot. Unfortunately, the Tigers could not hold on.
Hope Waid and Kendyl Dockter both recorded two hits.
