Box Score 2 BETHANY, Okla. – The Ouachita Baptist Tigers dropped two games on the road against the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm 8-0 and 9-1.
GAME 1: Ouachita 0, SNU 8
The Tigers only mustered three hits in a game that ended in five innings.
Madison Miller (2-4) started for the Tigers and went 3.1 innings. She gave up five runs, four earned, on four hits, struck out two and walked two.
Faith Melton came in relief of Miller and went 1.1 innings and gave up three earned runs on four hits.
Tobi Finley, Leighton Withers and Callie Jourdan were the only Tigers to record hits.
SNU jumped out to an early lead in the first inning 2-0. It was a consistent flow of offense for the Crimson Storm after that as it knotted runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to end the game early.
GAME 2: Ouachita, 1 SNU 9
The Tigers mustered a run in the fifth inning, but it was not nearly enough in another five-inning contest.
Nicole Arreola (0-4) started for the Tigers and went just .2 innings. She allowed two runs on four hits and a walk.
Faith Melton was first out of the pen as she went 1.1 innings and also gave up two runs. Hannah Stuart followed Melton and did not record an out. Stuart allowed three runs on two hits and three walks.
Madison Miller finished the final 2.2 innings and gave up two runs on five hits and struck out one.
The Tigers were better on offense in game two, but the effort still was not nearly enough. Kyndal Moyer went 2-3 and Tobi Finley recorded the Tigers only RBI on the day.
The Tigers lone run was a fifth inning groundout to shortstop by Finley that scored Tori Herbert.
Once again, SNU's offense was a consistent attack. The Crimson Storm scored in the first, third, fourth and fifth. A single through the right side by SNU in the bottom of the fifth ended the game early.
The Tigers dropped to 2-12, 0-6 in GAC play, while SNU improved to 13-5, 6-0 in conference.
