Box Score 2 ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Baptist Softball team dropped two home games to Oklahoma Baptist 2-0 and 3-1.
The bats never seemed to get going for the Tigers as the Bison scored just enough runs to squeak away with two victories.
GAME 1: Oklahoma Baptist 2, Ouachita Baptist 0
Madison Miller pitched a complete game for the Tigers. In 7.0 innings of work she gave up just two earned runs on three hits while striking out five.
It was not until the top half of the seventh that the Bison finally got to Miller as Emily Smith launched a two-run homer to propel the Bison to victory.
Unfortunately, on OkBU's side of things, Katie Long pitched a complete game for the Bison and only gave up a single hit.
The Tiger's lone hit came on a Heather Brown leadoff single in the third.
The Tiger's left six runners on base.
GAME 2: Oklahoma Baptist 3, Ouachita Baptist 1
In game two the Tigers recorded seven hits but could only push across a lone run in the bottom of the seventh.
Faith Melton went 6.2 innings for the Tigers. She gave up three earned runs on six hits while striking out five.
Madison Miller recorded the final out as she went .1 inning with a strikeout.
Sloane Precure and Kristen Shaw led the Tigers offensively. Precure recorded two hits and tallied the lone RBI on the day. Shaw also had two hits and scored the only run.
The Bison scored a run in the third on an RBI double but were held scoreless till the sixth. In the sixth and seventh the Bison pushed across one in each inning.
Unfortunately, the Tigers were unable to complete a comeback as one run is all Ouachita could muster in the final frame.
The Ouachita Baptist Tigers dropped to 2-18, 0-10 in GAC play, while Oklahoma Baptist improved to 13-9, 9-1 in conference play.
