ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University swimming and diving teams faced off against Henderson State at HSU's Wells Natatorium on Friday with the Ouachita women coming away with a 113.5-104.5 win and the men falling to the Red Wave 121-84.
The Ouachita women had wins in 1,000-yard freestyle (
Kate McCown), 200-yard freestyle (
Elise Henderson), 100-yard butterfly (Victoria Blum), and 500-yard freestyle (
Kate McCown).
The Lady Tigersharks swept the podium in 500-yard freestyle with
Kate McCown taking first,
Elise Henderson taking second, and
Anna Kate Velasquez coming in third.
The Ouachita men had wins in 1,000-yard freestyle (
Jeff McCoy) and 100-yard butterfly (
Elijah Christenson).
Jacob Lewis came in second behind McCoy in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
Up next for both teams is a home meet against Delta State on Saturday, November 6 starting at 11 a.m.
