PORTLAND, Texas – The Ouachita Baptist University softball team opened the Portland, Texas Classic on Friday with a 2-0 loss to Texas A&M-International and a 7-0 loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The Tigers (0-6) were limited to three hits in each game. Against International,
Hope Waid,
Callie Jourdan, and
Kyndal Moyer were responsible for Ouachita's hits. Against Kingsville, Waid went 2-for-3, while
Jillian Jones picked up the other Tiger hit.
Madison Miller tossed a complete game against International, giving up two runs off five hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
Nikki Schneider tossed a complete game in the nightcap.
Ouachita is back in action on Saturday in the Portland Classic against St. Mary's University at 10 a.m., and then against TAMU-Kingsville once again at 12:30 p.m.
