ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University softball team opened the 2022 season with a 4-1 loss to Emporia State and a 2-0 loss to Cameron on Saturday at home in the Ronnie Hawkins/Mike McGhee Memorial Invitational.

Heather Brown from third. Emporia evened the score with one run in the third, took a lead with one run in the fifth, and added a pair of cushion runs in the top of the seventh.
There were a combined eight errors in the game, both team with four, resulting in only two earned runs.
Madison Miller turned in a compete game in the circle, giving up only two earned runs and striking out seven Hornet batters.
In the second game, both Cameron runs came via homerun with solo shots in the top of the first and second innings, respectively.
Ouachita outhit Cameron in the game 6-5.
Reagann Harper went 2-for-3.
The Blossoms are back in action on Sunday in the Hawkins-McGhee Memorial Invitational, hosting Southwest Baptist at 9 a.m. and Northeastern State at 11 a.m.
