MAGNOLIA, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University softball team lost both games of a Great American Conference double header on Sunday on the road against Southern Arkansas by scores of 11-1 and 10-1.
In the first game, the Muleriders (14-11, 7-3 GAC) scored all of their runs in the first three innings – two in the first, five in the second, and four in the third – while Ouachita (7-16, 3-7 GAC) managed just one run in the first on an RBI double from
Madison Miller.
The Tigers were limited to just three hits in the first game, one each from Miller,
Hope Waid, and
Kyndal Moyer.
In the second game, Ouachita held SAU scoreless in the first two innings, but the Mulerider bats came to life starting in the third with four runs across the inning, followed by two in the fourth, one in the fifth, and three in the sixth.
Ouachita was held to one run in the sixth inning on an RBI groundout by
Callie Jourdan. The Tigers had four hits in the loss, one each from
Tuesday Melton,
Heather Brown,
Jessalyn Ahrens, and
Lauren Lester.
The series finale is set for Monday at 11 a.m. in Magnolia.
